The Dietary Supplement Label Explorer is a project of STRIPED at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Welcome to the STRIPED Dietary Supplement Label Explorer! This tool categorizes over 180,000 supplement labels from the NIH’s Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD) into three key categories—weight loss, muscle building, and cleanse/detox—using a validated methodology with 97% accuracy. Designed to enhance DSLD’s keyword search, it helps researchers identify labels based on manufacturer claims. Note: NIH’s DSLD doesn’t cover the entire market, and some labels may be missed. The U.S. FDA has flagged these categories for deceptive claims, underscoring their importance for research. Visit the STRIPED website for the full details on this search tool and please see our Disclaimer below for more details.
